Everyone in GTA roleplay has an opinion about which servers are big and which are growing. Almost nobody has a number they can date. This is the number.
What the census is
A script fetches the public server list from Cfx.re once a day, at 11:00 Pacific, and stores every server's name, player count, slot count, locale and tags. Each day's file is checksummed and mirrored, so no day can be edited or back-dated after the fact. A capture taken outside the morning window is kept but flagged, because it measures a different part of the daily cycle and cannot be compared with the rest.
The first capture was 3 September 2026. Six days are missing so far: 4 September and 9 to 13 September, when the scheduled task failed to start. They stay missing. A time series only means something if nobody can fill in a gap later.
The 8 September count
| Measure | Count |
|---|---|
| FiveM servers listed | 35,795 |
| Roleplay servers | 30,407 |
| Roleplay servers with at least one player | 8,075 |
| Players online, all of FiveM | 216,042 |
| Players online in roleplay servers | 191,420 |
| Roleplay share of players | 88.6% |
Roleplay is not a corner of FiveM. At 11:00 on a Tuesday it was nearly nine players in ten.
Where the players are, by server language
The locale is what each server owner declares, so it describes the server, not the players.
| Server language | Roleplay players | Share |
|---|---|---|
| English | 31,353 | 16.4% |
| Portuguese | 26,665 | 13.9% |
| Thai | 20,097 | 10.5% |
| German | 18,200 | 9.5% |
| French | 15,453 | 8.1% |
| Arabic | 11,311 | 5.9% |
| Turkish | 8,456 | 4.4% |
| Romanian | 7,298 | 3.8% |
| Spanish | 6,244 | 3.3% |
| Indonesian | 5,376 | 2.8% |
English holds a sixth of the audience. Anyone selling only to English-speaking servers is selling to a sixth of the market.
Who grew between 3 and 8 September
Growth compares the two captures taken inside the morning window, so it is five days of movement. Servers below 15 players on the first day are excluded, because a percentage on a tiny base is noise.
| Server | 3 Sep | 8 Sep | Gain |
|---|---|---|---|
| VALLEY ROLEPLAY (pt-BR) | 111 | 575 | +464 |
| OFFSET RP (pt-PT) | 651 | 1,108 | +457 |
| Narco City (de-DE) | 1,205 | 1,619 | +414 |
| Royal RP (en-GB) | 61 | 422 | +361 |
| CORLEONE CITY (de-DE) | 480 | 827 | +347 |
Three of the ten fastest-growing servers with 40 to 400 players were Brazilian. A server gaining players is a server spending on growth, which is why the growth list is the first place RUCKUS looks for buyers.
What RUCKUS does with it
Three things. It picks which servers to contact, growing ones first. It gives every campaign a market figure to report against. And it becomes the one record nobody in this niche can copy, because a count you did not take on the day is a count you can never take.
FAQ
Can I get the data?
Not as a bulk file yet. Cfx.re's terms on reuse have not been read, and RUCKUS does not sell a dataset before checking the terms it was collected under. The daily counts and the growth list are published here.
Why 11:00 Pacific?
It is the same moment every day, which is what makes days comparable. It is late evening in Europe and mid-afternoon in Brazil, so the count leans toward those regions; the share by language above reflects that.
Is "roleplay" self-declared?
Partly. A server counts as roleplay when its game type, name, tags or description say so, or when it runs one of the frameworks roleplay servers use.
